Paul draws a lot of influence from American roots music. He has a background firmly planted in blues and jazz and found the folky country songwriting style of writers like Gram Parsons, Jason Isbell, and Jackson Browne really lit a fire inside him for telling stories through song.

Paul is a seasoned guitar player with his roots in the farmlands of southern Indiana. The country sounds of Indiana blend well with his early blues influences and he has stretched his repertoire as a songwriter as well. He has spent most of his life honing his craft including a few tours playing in a cruise ship lounge. Dating back to his beginnings with Kris Brownlee and the Grooveside, Paul has played with up-and-comer Levi Riggs of Windridge Records and The Jay Wiley band of Pittsburgh, he also did a stint with The Hawkeyes.  He has performed worldwide and stateside; all over the Midwest, New York City, Nashville, Los Angeles, Fort Lauderdale, and Chicago.

Paul has opened for acts such as: Eric Paslay, JT Hodges, Ricky Young, Rehab, Chris Cagle, The Moonshine Bandits, Cracker, The Black Crowes, Justin Moore, Hunter Hayes, Red Wanting Blue, New Country Rehab, Stevie Monce, Caedmon's Call, Jarrod Niemann & Scarletta, and American Young.
